For the Depo projectors, are these an easy install? As in take my old stock out and put these in?

I live rurally, very rurally. I’m looking for something for 2002 Yukon XL but I do not want to get into the fancy stuff or attempt to change anything drastically. I just want to try to get more light.

My choice was going to be to buy new housings with new bulbs, but after reading this thread I wonder about the Depo instead.

Yes. Very easy direct replacement and include bulbs.

Light output isn't much brighter than stock with the halogens that are included but with projectors you can focus more light onto the road which is an instant upgrade.

I think for ease of what you might want, order a set of quality LED bulbs to put in them that put out more light. You may otherwise be disappointed.

Put LED bulbs in my stock or in projectors? The first comment is old but said technology wasn’t there, so it’s there now? I have LED in my brand new car which I love but I drive my Yukon more. I’m not capable of doing much to my vehicle, so if it needs something other than basic maintenance (fluids changed, headlights, filters, tires, etc) I need to take it somewhere.

I did plan on using a different halogen than what came with the projectors as I figured they were cheap.

Are the LED fog lights sold on eBay or Amazon not worth it still? I need to replace mine.

In your case JC - a pair of Sylvania SilverStar Ultra High-Performance bulbs may be the way to go for the 'ease' you're looking for.

LED's have come a long way in a hurry. Sure you can still buy the inexpensive ones that suck, but in reference to Amazon and eBay - you can get very high-end, quality bulbs, that will plug and play. Do your research and read some of the 'verified purchase' reviews and see if they'll fit your budget.

I have HID's in the hi/low/fog in a yukon and tahoe - both with projector housings and yeah they kick ass. However after researching and purchasing low wattage LED's for the CanAm, I was instantly corrected on the ignorant mindset about crap LED bulbs for headlights. Others will have to chime in here if load leveling is required for the headlight bulbs as I'm still running HID's until they fail again.

For instance I installed LED tails in both trucks and both required a load leveler be installed. Not expensive or difficult but it was frustrating finding out 20 minutes into a 6 hour drive that I had no cruise control to my favorite ice fishing lake.. if I hadn't broke the tabs on both tails I would have turned around and put the stocks back in.

The light output and longevity you can achieve with late model LED's vs Halogen is a no-brainer. In the coming months I will have at least converted one of the NBS trucks to LED and will certainly do a comparison.

I'm a little late on this thread, but what lights should I use with the Depo projector housings? After my Sylvania Silver Star's go out, should I get a HID kit on amazon or a LED kit? And what should I look for in a HID kit? Thanks!

Also, does anybody have suggestions on bumper/marker light housing brands?

Great luck with 55w opt 7 HIDs in the depo hi/low. once they fail I'll be going with a quality LED kit (not decided which). That said I'm burning the Opt 7 kits on year 2 with once a week car washes and long run trips through severe thunderstorms and zero issues + very good output

Been running ddmtuning.com hid for about 11+ years and have had good luck with them. Just recently installed some in the Yukon with double relays on high and low. Have had the cheaper version in my dodge since 2010 only changed out one relay and sometimes I have a bulb that won’t ignite. Turn off then back on works fine. Hids can be finicky and u gotta know what your getting into with them. I used the highest priced ones this round on the Yukon to see if they are any better. The ballast seem to be made tougher for sure. Pics with perfect cut off is just lows. The more blue is with highs. I have 6500k bulbs wish I would of used 5500k now just be a little brighter and less blue

Hids . You won't be happy with leds.

And I have tyc bumper lights. Best looking imo. But there's no "performance" you need to look out for when it comes to bumper lights. That's all in your preference in style.
