I have a 95 Tahoe that the tailgate hinge has come off the mounting point, anyone else have this issue or know what is involved in the repair?

Not yet, little is visable through gap when open. I think bumper will have to be removed to get a good look. I haven't been able to find any exploded views to see what is there.

Try lmctruck.com out of Lenexa, Ks. They got it all for these rigs.

Go to that website and type in the year make and model and use the word "hinge" as a search word. Open up picture #29. You will see item #31-hinge pin for $2.55 each and item #32-bushings for $1.95 each. You need 1 pin and 2 bushings per side. I would do both sides. Call 800-LMC-TRUCK if needed. They will be like the pin and bushings for the door hinges.

yes you will need to remove the bumper and the tailgate. the hinges have a pin in them just like the dooor hinges. they will have a c clip on one side then they just pop right out. if your tailgate has the spring assist bar, be VERY carefull when you pull the tailgate away from the truck. the spring will come out and if you are about my height it will get you in a bad place ( want to guess how i know?) anyway after all that is over you can line the hinge back upe and weld it back on.
