Remove the two screws in the arm rest pocket. Carefully pry around the bottom edge of the upholstered panel to release nylon stud & socket fasteners. Remove triangle trim panel at forward edge of window by prying loose the same fastener in the middle of that panel...lift upwards to remove. Lift the entire panel to unhook the top edge which hooks over the sheet-metal at the bottom of the window opening. The trim around the door-handle is held in place by three three j-hooks which must be pressed towards the center of the handle to release. The door handle assembly simply slides forward about 1/2" before coming loose from the metal in the door. You can buy extra stud & socket assemblies at a Chevy garage for pennies.

Pop the triangle off covering the mirror bolts
Pop the lock slider off and take that 7mm out
Take the 10mm out under the inside handle and there may be one under the switches
Take the cover off the torx and remove it
Pull upward on the panel by the handle and it should slide off
Fallow the rod to the bottom and you'll see a yellow hinge clip, pop it open.
Pull the lock rod off at the red clip on the cylinder
The handle is held on by two or three 10mm bolts. Can't remember right now. Once you take the bolts out, grab the handle as if you're opening the door but hold the surround. Pull out and tilt the bottom first pulling downward a little. It'll come out pretty easy.

Will the handles from the back door fit on the front door? I would like to get rid of my key holes. That has been the point of entry on both theft occasions.

the handles are identical, the difference I think is the length of the metal rods that connect the door handle hinge with the lock itself.

So can the metal rods be changed over? I haven't got my truck back yet so I can't check it out yet...
