My next question would be,
Can I turn the crankshaft from the pulley just by using a ratchet? And does the belt have to be off? Does it have to be in neutral with parking brake on?
You can try and turn it from the pulley using just a ratchet, but you may need the extra leverage of a pipe or use a breaker bar.

No-you do not need to take the belt off.

You should be able to do it in park or do it in neutral with the parking break on.

You will likely have it up on jack stands and hopefully have chock blocks behind the back wheels.

What Wade said. But, to make it easier and since it's sure to have uses elsewhere, a 1/2" drive breaker bar is worth the $15 (Harbor Freight) investment.

You can just turn it as is, you just need a relatively deep socket to clear the harmonic balancer
