A suspension lift that drops the differential and NOT the Rough Country 2-3" kit. Something more like the Rough Country 4-6" kit

x2. Best option in my opinion. Just ditch the lift blocks in the kit and use some springs from another vendor.

Also, I'd only crank up to level (usually like an inch or so). My HD is cranked up to level right now. Anything over that causes a lot of stress on the front end (CV shafts, ball joints, tie rods).

k so the plan so far is i'm gunna put 2-4" lift spings in the back, crawled under my truck today and I snapped one of my leafs and it's not causing any damage (yet) but makes a brutal rattling noise.

as for the front end i'm still up in the air. I just want to comfirm, if I change my keys to another set (if anyone has a suggestion of which to put in) can I crank slightly and have it sit higher then stock keys to level with the rear lift

no need to change keys on our model trucks. Typically the stock keys should allow you to crank too far as in to the stops.

When cranking the keys, you can crank to .25" or way more, the choice is yours and controlled by how tight you crank the bolts

alright I just didnt know if different keys would start at a different offset and allow for more crank. I know everyone says dont crank more then 2" on the keys which I dont intend too anyways. I just want to level the front with the back 2-4" lift springs.

you are correct in that differetly indexed keys will allow for more crank. But in most cases it's not needed. if the bars are shot this is a cheap fix.

so I ordered my lift springs today. they should be at the shop in a couple days. and then cranking the tbars to level. can't wait to get it done. also getting some 285s from my uncle. they are the old set he had on his 97 1500 (pretty good shape) he jus bumped to 295s with some really aggressive tread is all.

Here is my Tahoe on 285/75/16's with a T-Bar crank. I have 2 inch blocks, but they haven't been installed yet.

Currently my rear sits at 37.5 inches and the front sits at 38.5 inches. Where I had issues wasn't in the back but clearing the front tires. I had to trim quite a bit to fit 285's even after the crank so beware.

The weirdest part about this picture is even at the dimensions above, it still looks a bit raked . . . .

He's on stock wheels though. It makes clearing bigger tires easier with the larger back spacing and thinner wheels

I haven't decided if i'm gunna change the rims. likely not right now though. I definetly wanna put some 33" tires so if I put them on stock tires I won't have to trim as much? What all would possibly have to be trimmed to make them fit?
