I’m sure you can make it work. I haven’t bothered to try using TIS2k, after speaking with some knowledgeable folks on this forum. I don’t have a need for it at this time. If I do, I’ll invest in a cheap laptop that has an onboard serial port. Then, there’s no BS adapter, which, in my experience, very few actually work. Look at a Lenovo T410. They’re cheap, and have a serial port. [emoji106][emoji631]I am thinking I will need to find a USB to Serial adapter. the problem then will be that mi TIS2000 is looking for COM1 and I will be on something like COM7, 8 or 9.
I dunno...
I don’t have a current need for tis2000 and I am just wasting time messing with it. Moving on....I’m sure you can make it work. Ok, I ordered that. Are you running win7 or win10? I am running win10 with a virtual machine that runs xp. I have to set the virtual machine to use a port and then tell tis2000 to use the specified port on the vm. Thats where I expect trouble. Here is what I am using...

When you get it, insert the disk that comes with the adapter to install the drivers.
Depending on which USB port you plug into will determine your com port.
Once it is installed go back to TIS2000 and up top it will say "Configuration" or something like that. In that menu you select "Tech 2"and then "Properties" and in the drop down menu you can set the com port you set the adapter up on.
