The Tech-2 is useful for a lot more than just programming modules. I find it handier to use than a laptop out at the car and when driving.

Well I did end up buying one anyway that I've been using to try and figure out my other issues. I have a new driver's seat memory module coming so we'll be attempting our first pass-through soon.

There is more to it than the screen. It seems there is some poor connection where VCI Plugs in. When I have all the boards out on my desk I can get it to work with some fidgeting. I have reflowed all the solder on all the pins with little luck in making it work consistently.

Could it be the power supply going bad? They sell them on ebay.

It's something about the connection between the main board and the VCI. If I pull all the guts out of the case it works most of the time but I have to fidget with that connection. I don't trust it to work for me consistently anymore.

I wonder if you can pick up a ribbon connector somewhere, maybe ebay?
