Hello TYF, I'm trying to get into more of the programming and diagnostics for my truck and I'm thinking this may be the time to pick up a Tech2 as I am also in need of grabbing and programming a second and third set of keys for '13.

Instead of paying the dealer for two fobs and programming, is it possible to program the key fobs and keys with the Tech2? Seems like a win if I can as it's probably going to be about the same cost and I get to keep the Tech2.

I am looking through a lot of threads and am seeing a difference of clone vs original Tech2 devices, would someone be able to explain the difference and pros/cons between the two?

The consensus was the link posted by @Joseph Garcia found here (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/325...602_,searchweb201603_&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt) but that particular item is no longer available.

Yes you will be able to program the key fobs with a Tech2.

I bought mine a few years ago from Chinacardiags.com

What differences are you seeing?

Mine is identical to a 2010 Vetronix unit. I speculate that the Chicom factories kept making them after GM moved onto the MDI system. There are some differences now, probably 10% to keep out of copywrite infringements, if Commies care about such things!

Anyhow, I would choose a seller with lots of sales and good reviews. Most will come from mainland China or Hong Kong and will be shipped DHL and arrive sooner than expected. Sometimes you can find them US sellers on Ebay.

Make sure it comes with all the accessories and 33.004 software. I like the case, others don't.

I find it handier to use than a laptop.

Interested as well if we find a replacement to order!
