totally different, you have a TBI, they changed the much improved in 1996.
In the US the last year was 1995 for TBI.
From wiki:
L31 applications:
- 1996–2003 Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana full-size vans
- 1996–1999 Chevrolet/GMC C/K full-size trucks
- 1996–1999 Chevrolet Suburban/GMC Suburban full-size long-wheelbase SUVs
- 1996–1999 Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon (and 2000 Tahoe Limited) full-size short-wheelbase SUVs
- 1999–2000 Cadillac Escalade
I personally think the Vortec are more reliable just because they have maximized to an extent what the short block can do. They are certainly more efficient at their work.

Also the 350 is still used today in various forms of transport including boats. Other companies manufacture them to. The 350 is actually used in the Oscar Meyer Winer Mobile and I believe were also used in the starting carts for the SR-71 aircraft at one point. They are everywhere and can be bored to become a 383.
