Testing Rear Air Compressor - Replacing Shocks

I'm going to be replacing the shocks on my 2007 Denali because the bags are shot on these (132,000 miles), so I found some decent Arnott OE remaned shocks that I'm going to throw on. But, I don't know if my compressor is shot or not and I want to test it to make sure it's still working. Is there anyway I can jump some terminals to get it to fire up?

I could be wrong but i thought the compressor should turn on right after start up for about 5 seconds and then turn off. I would start your truck after sitting for a day and start it up and listen for it to come on. If it doesnt then you probably have a bad compressor but at the same time there usually is a CEL that comes on if the compressor goes bad

Does it always come on for a few seconds? I purchased an 07 Denali about 2 weeks ago and haven't heard it. Now I haven't had any real weight in it so it would have to come on and I haven't had a CEL but still thought I would have heard it once at least.
