Got a bunch of new warnings I’ve never seen before:
Reduced engine power
Overheating

And she was smoking like crazy

Do all belts and idlers and tensioners. Pressure test before you do this. If you find a bad water pump you will save the time to take the belts off again. Remember, if you got it hot enough, even if the water pump caused this overheating, you could still have other components in the heating and cooling systems to address. Hopefully not head gaskets. Also, keep in mind, that even if the head gaskets check ok now you could have weakened them and they give you a problem later.

Having no alternator spinning means no electrical power. Plus who knows how long you ran on just the battery before you shut it down.

Did the belt jump off? If so, id suspect the tensioner, idler or locked up alternator.

282k might have to Old Yeller her but hoping not.

which leads to another question. Yes she’s old as sin with 282k on it but the interior except for the drivers cockpit is mint. I have no kids or animals. The seats are still plush the trim is still clean. Besides the fender being dented in and the exterior painting chipping, it’s not that bad. Is there a market for this?

There is a market for it and you can sell some items here at the forum. There is a for sale section.
