phew what a busy day off it has been.

since i was replacing almost everything in my steering, i decided to just pull the whole thing out. unbolted the steering gear, idler assembly, and tie rod ends from spindles and pulled the whole bastard out. Really made things MUCH easier.

Took it all apart and cleaned it up. I also ended up replacing my entire gear box. 200k miles has done its toll, and i don't have the skills/tools/time/patience to rebuild my old one. $185 trip to autozone later, and i had exchanged my old steering gear (with pitman arm still attached LOL was just gonna go in the trash anyway. had to remove the old nut and lock washer that held it in place for the new pump as well as the line tube for the fluid)

then i installed the new pitman arm to the gear, and bolted it in. Then put the idler arm on the new idler assembly. Not sure if it was really necessary to replace the idler assembly, but i'm not taking chances. then installed that onto the vehicle. Installed the center link, then tie rods and she was done!

not bad for a days work. my hands are always covered in shit so i never have time to take pictures. I'll take pictures once its all done.

Also went and measured all my fender heights. 43" in the rear and 42.5" in the front. probalby going to crank the front to 43.5-44" for a little cali. Need to get a torsion bar unloader and tighten up my torsion drop brackets and reinstall. Once thats done, fresh alignment and she's DONE!! psh yeah right

yay more updates!

well i got my bilstein 5160 reservoir shocks in today and did a little mock up. also cranked up the torsion keys to get the front where i want it. might drop it down a little. probably mess with it a little bit more before i get it aligned.

As for the shocks, going to just mount them in factory location and mount the resi on the frame towards the back of the vehicle using supplied mount bracket.

like this front end height
