Fuel, water temp, and speed are all wrong.
I just drove 7840kms round trip and used the Maxitrip computer for the first time.
Here is one crazy example of how f$ucked up this is. I was getting four different vehicle speeds from four different
sources.
- Dash needle says 120kph.
- Trip computer says 111kph.
- Road side radar says 108kph.
- GPS says 109kph.
What was my actual speed? I dunno.
My dash needle is on average 10kph off from what the GPS was reading and about 5kph off from what my truck computer says. I guess that's why I havn't got a speeding ticket in this truck ever! When I think I'm speeding, I'm not!
Water temp went to 90c and stayed there, but the water temp varied from 84c to 89c.
Fuel gauge was way off. 1/2tank of actual fuel shows on the dash as 3/4. I learnt that if the needle shows less than 1/2 tank, better find a gas station fast!
I kinda knew before this trip that the gauges where off abit especially the fuel gauge, but this trip showed just how far off they are.
