Yeah the Bells are 1.5 times longer.
About 1 week to settle for the DJM coils, they are not progressive rate thats why, so it does it quicker.
Yeah I had to contribute, try to keep away from *******.

So what are the fender measurements with the belltechs compared to the DJM's. Was thinking about getting rid of the DJM"S ( stiff ride for my son and wife, I dont mind it though), and going with the belltechs. Tony (norcalss) and i are supposed to meet up this week sometime and throw in some trailblazer DJM drop springs for a 6" drop on our trucks. If it rides any better then these, i may just get some and ditch the 5"

haven't got fender measurements I'm waiting for it to settle
I'm not running shocks again at the moment and I'd have to say the DJM's recover on dips that the Belltech would just keep on bouncing

I may switch back and just get some beefier shocks to hold up some weight but I'm not sure yet..

For what it counts in this thread, The DJMs are by no means too harsh, just they are too stiff for daily driving w/o the free travel mod and soft shocks.
They may also get annoying over bumpy terrain.
Their positives are they work well for heavy loads (subs and what not) and towing, and will sag less over time because of the HD coil design and large actual coils.
The 5305s with SP shocks, being my 4th coil on this truck, ride just like my Pedders coils did with the stock stiff shocks. The DJMs only got on my nerves because of the noise they would make, and after asking/searching around, it seems like I had an isolated issue.
Also, a non-progressive coil is a non-progressive coil, so the DJM 5" coils, McG 5" coils, Belltech 4230 (or maybe 4203) coils, and those KW TrailBlazer coils will all ride the same on these SUVs, as long as the free travel mod is done.:Handshake:

I was trying to clarify that peeps reading the thread do not think me or you are trying to flat out say the DJMs are harsh, because the way we mentioned them in this thread may make them think so.
The noise pretty much sounds like the coils moving around the top buckets, causing a popping type sound. May be because the coils are so fat they may be touching the sides of the top perch when the trucks is on rougher roads.

bingo!!
haulin ass into the grocery store parking lot, there are 2 dips one right off the road and one about a hundred feet in

I hit the first one and start bouncing hit the second one and I hear like a spring like noise, very industrial, I could also feel it a little in the floor board

when I was installing them I jacked up the right side of the car and popped out the Belltech and threw in the DJM, it didn't really want to sit right

started lowering the truck a little and went to go check to make sure everything was gravy and now all of a sudden it was like stuck to the bottom perch, wouldn't even move, don't know what I did

then lower it some more, check again and the top of the spring had got caught on the bump stop bracket lip that was left over from when I cut the bump stops out and started bending sideways

so yes its very possible thats what the noise is from

Oh, since you tracked it down to that, maybe its a spring improperly seating issue?
What's weird is I put my isolators back in, and it pretty much did no help at all with the noise. Pretty positive whatever is making the noise is caused by the top mount, still confused on how/what is exactly responsibel though.
I asked JkMotorsports a while back and he said his 5" DJMs were as quiet as a Prius....

the spring is way to wide at the bottom and top for an isolator to really do anything

Steve had his lodged in there and the rubber was barely enough to keep it quiet.

other than if you really put some serious stress on them mine are very quiet
I remember before with the Bilsteins I had and the Belltechs I had so many noises from the rear, it may have been from the shocks but either way its silent now and I like it

Oh, well that means you don't have the noise issues I had, think they could jsut be meant for the NBS models over the NNBS maybe.
Get some Belltech SP shocks under there, you will need something soft with all that load.
