There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

One thing I realized during this entire engine/transmission removal was that I am sure glad to have a cell phone to shoot pics with. During this process, I have taken numerous pics of "before" pics, especially of harness routing and harness connections. I also have dozens of small zip loc bags available to me that as I took components/systems apart, I would write where the attaching hardware came from, on the bag, and then zip them up in the bags. I also laid them all out in line in the order I took it all apart. Then during the reassembly process I did it all in reverse order. Took so much of the guesswork out of the process. Years ago, I did not have to do that but I was also working on old technology with just 1 or 2 harnesses. In the beginning, the entire "logging it in" process takes/adds time but on the reassembly, it saves so much time.

Out of all the many many many many many different fasteners, that I have removed during all this, can you imagine what it would be like to try to sort thru all of them as the reassembly takes place? Plus, the reverse order time saved? We are talking hours here.

I am really anxious to finish this F150. I not only want to get the truck back to my neighbor, I want to get on to the Duramax diesel engine replacement, where we are going to lift the body off the frame for access. My friend, shop owner, is a diesel specialist on all popular makes and models, and says it is the way to go.

Another day on the F150. Installed alternator and belt. Installed fan shroud, new fan and fan clutch, air filter housing and plugged in the new MAF sensor, cleaned and installed the air snorkel housing, reinstalled all 3 pieces of cowling and both wiper arms/blades, reinstalled bumper and facia, hood latch and hood safety catch, both headlights and verified the hood closes as should and hood release works as should. All engine compartment and front body components are all back in place and secured as should be. Transferred over to lift and will be installing the completely reman transmission and new torque converter, transfer case, crossmember, drivelines, exhaust and new oxygen sensors, refill with fresh fluids and take on at least two long road tests.
