I know that it opens and closes to let cool water recirculate through out the motor but what is the oe. Temp therm. Should be and why are there differnt alternate temp. In the summer i was running a 160 deg. Tuned on ac every thing went up and guage lights came on so went up to a 195 therm. Back to norm but hose from radiato on top just feels full .dropped down to an 180 know the hose just feels empty.

I have a 190F Thermostat. It runs around 188F when it warms up. If I step on it will sometimes run up to 195 but only for a few seconds. If you really want your tempature to stay in the right spot get some E-Fans.

On a TBI, OE thermostat temperature is 195°F

You should be good running 180°F, that is what I am currently running.
