I have a 2007 Z71 Tahoe and some minor parts of the interior are just falling apart or simply not working. Does anyone know how I could fix any of these issues (listed below)?

1) Both rear windows will not work from the back seats. I cannot lower or raise the windows from the back seats, but I can raise and lower the rear windows from the driver's controls. How can I get the rear controls working again?

2) The power rear seat control button and the sunroof full open button on the control panel above the rear view mirror function, but they no longer light up at night. Is there anyway to replace the lights underneath the buttons?

3) One of the covers on the door handle (the plastic piece directly behind the actual handle on the inside) is somehow missing. Is there any way to purchase another plastic cover?

Thanks for any help! Much appreciated!

I only have one out of three answers.

The button and light is all in one. Mine went out and the dealership replaced the whole button/light as a whole.

Thanks for the response! Was your car still under warranty? Mine isn't anymore, so I'm not sure if they'll replace it for free or not.

1) Not trying to be a smartass... but just be sure that your window "lock" control (on the drivers side controls) is not turned on. This will not allow anyone else to lower the windows except the driver... Just figured I would throw it out there... Next step would be to start probing some of the wires around the switch at the window...

2) GMpartsdirect has both of these replacement parts. It is best to supply them your vin and verify the part numbers, but the two part numbers for mine (which happen to be the same two switches you have burned out), are as follows: 15862408 rear seat adjuster switch 25845572 lift gate actuator switch. Ended up being about $60 or $70 shipped... half of that was shipping!

3) it appears like your talking about part 11 on the diagram. GM parts direct has them for about $40, plus who knows what for shipping!

Yes it was under warranty so they replaced it for free. Yea the button/light is covered only in the bumper-to-bumper warranty under 36k miles.

Thanks for all the help! Those look like the right parts, but man are they expensive. There is no way I'm going to pay that kind of money, especially when everything still functions correctly. If they ever brake and stop working, then I'll replace them.

And no, I do not have the child lock on (I should have included that in my original post). I guess there's just something wrong with the wiring; I'm sure that will be a pain to try and fix. Oh and I forgot to include something else that has fallen apart...

4) My lumbar adjuster no longer works for the driver's seat. When I try to adjust it, I can hear the motor trying to work, but nothing actually happens. Any idea what the issue is?

Thanks for all the help so far!

In order to pin point your issue I would pull the pnel on the rear doors and check that connections haven't loosened or gotten pinched.

As far as the rest, maybe search a junk yard or ebay

While this topic is out there, has anyone else experienced problems with minor pieces of their Tahoe/Yukon falling apart? I used to own a 2003 Z71 Tahoe, and I feel like that vehicle was of much better quality; all the plastic/metal felt thicker and more sturdy, and I never had an issue with any lights in the dash going out, or power seats or windows not working. What gives? My 2007 is only 4 years old, it should not be having these problems already. Anyone else experiencing this?

I think that's the first time I read someone saying the pre '07 vehicles were at all better than the 07+. I think they went way up on quality in '07 but I guess we'll see how my '07 ages.

I would have to agree on the quality of the NBS to NNBS... I went from a NBS escalade, to a BMW, then to the NNBS denali... I think the NNBS is much better quality, fit and finish than the NBS. Like the last poster said, we will see how it ages...
