Hi everyone, I'm considering buying a 2011 Yukon with 87k miles. How many more miles can I expect to get out of if before I have to do major work on it (like a new transmission)?
Thanks!

Lol....do you know any maintenance history on it at all? It's kinda different for every vehicle regardless of make/model. Depends on how it's been maintained

I have the Carfax report and it looks good but I don't really know how much those things really tell you. The dealer that's selling it just replaced the front brake rotors and flushed the transmission fluid. Other than that I'm not sure.

Well if taken care of things like the trans will go for 100's of thousands of miles. I've got 162k on my 07 with 0 trans issues. The only major issue I've had in 5+ years is lifter failure related to the AFM system at about 135k. Fixed that and tuned out the AFM and she's running strong as ever at the moment.

Thanks for the input. I'm not really that worried about as I only drive about 4000 miles a year. I'm mostly trying to put my husband's mind at ease

:waytogo: they are a good vehicle. We've been extremely happy with ours and there's a wealth of info on this site to educate you even more on your purchase :Handshake:

I recently bought an 08 XL Denali variant with 83K miles. Never towed with. Dealer maintained from day 1. Two days after I brought it home, I did a complete transmission fluid flush and filter change (internal trans pump method), differential fluid change on both axles, transfer case fluid change, motor oil and filter change, throttle body cleaning, and replacement of spark plugs and wires with new OEM's.

The truck runs like it just rolled off the assembly line. I got lucky with a very clean 2008 6.2 liter that does not have cylinder deactivation. Just installed a brake controller and can't wait to start towing with it. I'm confident that this truck will be an asset for years to come. And the 6.2 vortec makes a nice rumble with my newly added intake tube.

I have 127k on my 07 Denali with 0 issues as well. It has also had a leveling kit for 40k miles and 33x12.50s for 10k miles.
