We know what you really wanted. Is that lunch?

Here's an idea. Get the captains chairs and replace with cloth from front seats. I'll even PM you my VIN so that you could get the stay covers for the front seats. My truck has black cloth seats. It's an 07. The only problem I see is the armrest, or lack thereof.

That's a really good idea! The only problem I see is that I heard somewhere that Tahoes and Suburbans are interchangable for seating...not sure if that's true or not, but def worth looking into. Just to be clear, what you're saying it to get a set of front seats and put them in the rear, or get a set of rear seats and use cloth from the front?

I am not sure the front and middle seats will be interchangable.

Yeah they have their drawbacks, but leather is somewhat cost-prohibitive at the moment, and between the hot/cold weather we get here cloth manages to stay comfy year round. I don't have a pup any more, so cleaning isn't too bad, save for the middle center seat, where the carseat goes...graveyard for unwanted baby snacks :devilfinger:

So I have a 2008 Burb with a cloth bench. I'd like to change out for captains chairs. It seems as though GM didn't make cloth captains, at least that I've found. So I'm thinking about finding el cheapo set of leather captains and buying new cloth covers for them to match my current interior. Several things concern me about this, not the least of which is that this might be a really dumb idea.

That being covered (pun intended) what do you interior gurus think? Do they make covers for 2nd row captains that are of good quality? Would they cover the arm rest, or is that something I'd have to have customed? I don't need heat, power or anything else, just functional non-smoker's seats that recline and fold or do whatever they're supposed to do. I'm looking at parted-out trucks on part-finder engines now, but if anyone has any suggestions I'm listening. I know this sounds ridiculous, and it probably is, but it's past bedtime and I took some cough meds with codine, so I'm running with it.:party33:

Is this another chapter of my autobiography, "It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time"?

I just looked on eBay to confirm my thoughts. The 2008 didn't come with "Captain's Chairs" in the front row. The ones with bucket seats and a console don't have arm rest as Captain's Chairs do. I am not trying to be smart, just bare with me. I have a 2011 Sierra SLE which came with a Split Bench Seat, often referred to a 40/20/40. The Driver and passenger seats are the same as a SLT that has a full floor console. The center jump seat is held in place with the inboard bolts of the outside seats. I came across some consoles that came out of new Police Tahoe's where police consoles were installed. I removed my center jump seat and installed the console to replace it. The console uses the same mounting as the jump seat. It looks just like it came from the factory that way. The outside now buckets are the same as a truck that came way. So, if you have 40/20/40 seat now, you just need a console. I am out of them, but there were some for sale on eBay.
Good luck......

Thanks Robert, I followed what you're saying but I think maybe we're off a little. I currently have buckets in the front, but a bench in the back, and I'm hoping to put captains in the back instead of the bench. If that's what you meant, and that I can take the 40/20/40 and put it in the back, I'm all over it. But I'm not sure the bolt pattern will be the same. Is that what you were getting at?
