Unrelated PSA, car seats differ but most new seats require you to move to using seat belts only (not lower anchors) once your kid is above 40lbs, lower anchors are not rated as strongly as seat belts

So wife and I spoke last night and went through the numbers. She likes the Yukon XL over the suburban.

Just very hesitant because of the tranny issues I've experienced with our 2015i.

Can you guys confirm that this has been fixed and no issues with the 2016 8 speeds?

And....she wants black color. Ugh. I wanted to go with the white frost tricoat.

Just got back to this post...zero issues with my 8 speed or my Yukon all together. I was partial to black as well.

Laura will treat you right, esp if you come from far away. Call and ask for Aaron Davis - he's great. I've bought several from them and I learned who NOT to deal with before I found Aaron. He's a great guy! Pm me if you want a reference, he knows me.

I feel you on the transmission.. I've gone through 2 transmission in one month (last month)! 8 spd transmission and the dealer told me they were the same tranny as the 2016. Then last week got the engine light... back to the dealer and they found one bad injector. All 8 were replace and according to the service advicer its the newer version vs what was in the 2015s. That is the reason why they replace all 8 instead of just the bad one. Anyways now I have 8 inch crack on my freaking windshield... that happen while I was following an 18 wheeler! AAA wanted to put an aftermarket windshield. I refused and requested an OEM windshield. I'm getting an OEM glass.

They did ask if I wanted to trade in the Denali for a 2016 model. As I was talking to the sales guy the service manager advice me to wait for the 2017 interim (mid year). He said there are some good changes coming for the mid year 2017 model one being a new grill for the Denali. Don't know how true that is but that's what he said.

Don't forget...you won't be getting an 8 speed in any 2016 Yukon except the Denali. Again...really look and ask for that "Max Tow" Package. A good salesman at any dealer will do a locater search and find what you're looking for. They are out there but with model change over taking place in Arlington your choices are narrower. Now...if you talk to Laura, you may be able to order a 2017 equipped any way you want!!

Chevy vs GMC is marketing mostly with a few superficial changes - if you are looking at similar trim levels, it is the same with a plus for the GMC one

Don't forget...you won't be getting an 8 speed in any 2016 Yukon except the Denali. Again...really look and ask for that "Max Tow" Package. Thanks Yukon John. I plan to head back to the dealer when I have some time and drive as many as I can. They seem to have a ton of Black Yukon XL denalis on the lot, maybe I can negotiate a better price.

I asked my wife how she felt about me driving 14-15 hours to GMC Laura and back. No go given our newborn, LOL.

Keep in mind...if you find what you want...Laura will probably deliver it to you. I bought my 2016 Yukon sight unseen. I had driven enough of them that I knew exactly what I wanted. These dealers will bust their ass to make a sale...trust that !!
