Im torn into trading in my truck for a 18 RRS after sitting inside one but I really like my ride. So just browsing I came across this and was thinking about giving it a shot. It’s a Joying 10.25 screen and I think it’s possible to install with the help of a 2din to single din adapter, a customized abs injected molded replacement dash kit and the proper harness.

Only if I could find somebody to customize a new bezel. I wonder the cost.

I’ve always looked at this as wasted space.

The space is certainly there to incorporate something wider. The problem is modifying the bezel so it doesn't look like a hack job, and even then it probably will just look out of place to have the width of where the HVAC controls are suddenly jump out an inch or two.

I’m thinking the same thing. Only if you could take HVAC and incorporate into the radio .

There’s a thread somewhere about a company making a tablet type setup for the stereo and climate control portion of the dash and incorporating into one unit, all to look similar to the Tesla’s iPad dash setup. That might be an option for you to look into. It would go vertical instead of horizontal though so as to eliminate the climate control part and have that all part of the one screen.

I look at it like this. The Alpine restyle is nice but outdated and cost $2000. I can get a joying radio and a processor for under $1k

Yeah I think I started that thread in search of getting rid of this dreaded center console. PhoenixAndroid radio. Thing is they don’t make one for these SUVs and I don’t see them doing it anytime soon. Supposedly not enough demand.

Oh gotcha. I couldn’t remember who started the thread. And I couldn’t remember if the thread had said if the company was making them for your gen suv or not.
