What do you guys do to protect the third row seat after you remove it? I'd like to store mine in the barn, but I need to protect it from the mice and filth. I've been thinking about giant Tyvek bags or maybe patio furniture storage, but I'm wondering if there is something better.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I just threw mine in the garage. I put them in some big heavy duty construction garbage bags. Of course the rollers made holes in the bags.

I stuck mine in several large sized commercial trash bags. Obviously won't help with mice, but you might just get a plastic bin you put them in there to keep mice out. Can't close lid, but it's better than nothing.

If you have a large, old chest-freezer they make great mice-proof storage chests. Would need a big one to fit the seat but they're out there... put a wanted ad, most people pay to have broken old freezers hauled off... offer to take it for free.

This subject was one of the 1st issues I had when I bought my Yukon XL. .....
1st, GM claims it is easy to remove, due to the wheels..... Ya.. right...
What do you do with the moving of it when it's on the ground? It rolls sideways - a tad wider than a doorway. They "should" had installed wheels, somehow, on the end so you can wheel it around.

NO ONE MAKES A STORAGE BAG FOR IT. I contacted Weathertech... They were not interested, even when I suggested no one makes one. ( They do make a roof canvas storage bag)

My idea was to use the design of a 'pop-up' tent bag. ( They are made of a strong canvas, heavy duty zipper and have wheels on the bottom).... My idea was to employ a canvas shop to make one,..using a furniture dolly as the base & heavy grab-straps.
( What I did)....
I got a new canvas drop cloth & wrapped it, then a couple yard-trash bags to seal it. It leans against the wall.

I thought if a canvas shop makes one, maybe I can offer more 'clients' to have duplicates made.

Sounds like a good idea.

Solved! Mountie's reply got me thinking.

I bought a rain-proof rooftop carrier bag made by Curt. 59x24x24. Heavy-duty vinyl and a massive zipper. A little pricey, but it will do the job. I need to swing by Harbor Freight and pick up a $10 furniture dolly to park it on so I can move it around easily.

And I don't think mice will be a problem. Turns out there's a ringtail living in my barn.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Everyone one of those I have ever opened always stinks. Wouldn't there be a smell that just soaks into the fabric?

Installed heavy duty hanging hooks in the garage, and have them hanging from them in the garage.
