So my third seat ON MY 2002 Yukon XL will not fold down (it is done manually). When I lift the #1 lever it does not fold down but the lever does seem to move a bit. I have tried everything I know to get it to fold but to no avail. This started after the seat was removed and put back in place so not sure if something is in the way of one of the locking mechanisms or what. Any help/ideas will be greatly appreciated as the wife is not happy with me right now!!!

thanks in advance

Usually the tab at end of the release cable comes off over time. Just need to figure which side came off. Look where the seat latches to the floor as you move the lever. I use a wire coat hanger to release mine. Too lazy to fix since I rarely fold down the third row.

yuo can also try pulling on the back of the seat back towards the rear. Sometimes if it's not all the way back, it won't let you as well...

I had this same issue when I bought mine. They were folded up and I couldn't move any of the levers. Then I used WD-40 on everything that looked like it should move and I haven't had a problem since.

Ditto. I also put a little grease in the hardware too. I ended up WD40 overspray on the leather and grease in the carpet.

Seats work smoother than new though.
