Hi, new to the site.

We picked up our 2016 Yukon Denali last week. This our third Denali (2005 and 2009), and we are thrilled with it.

I hadn't intended to get rid of the 2009, as it had exceptionally low miles (50K km), and was running perfectly, but the new styling, tons of features, and sheer luxury of the new model was impossible to resist.

In an amazing coincidence, this 2016 was sitting in the showroom of the local dealership, optioned exactly as if I had ordered it. It was a special order, but the original buyer had gotten impatient, and bought something else.

Its Summit White, short wheelbase, with HUD, security, rear bench, no rear DVD, sunroof, adaptive cruise, 22" wheels, all weather mats, cargo cover, rear cargo floor mat, console tray and chrome exhaust tip.

The rear bench was the deal sealer for us, as neither of us like the Captain's chairs in the second row.

We got a fair trade on the 2009 (they sold it within days), did the paperwork, and were out the door. Easy and painless.

Beautiful, beautiful truck. Hopefully it will be as reliable as its two predecessors.

The only minor complaint I have has to do with the rear seat. I wish GM offered the option to delete the third row altogether on these new models, so you would have a flat load floor (instead of one that slopes). I would prefer that, along with a small weight improvement, and perhaps a small credit on the MSRP. We never used the third rows in either of the previous Yukons, and will likely never use the third row in this one, either. But I have to carry it around everyday.

Anyway, I'm delighted with my new Denali, and am enjoying this forum.

No they can't. Well I'm sure they can, but I doubt it's a flat floor underneath them.

According to at least several posts on various forums, you can remove the third row seats. Its a matter of a few bolts, and unplugging a wiring connector. You are left with a cavity that one owner filled with a piece of cut plywood, with a Weathertech cargo mat on top.

It's extremely unlikely I would go to that length just to gain a flat floor, lower sill height and a slightly larger cargo area. I just wish GM would give owners who never used the third row on previous vehicles, and never intend to use the third row on their new Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade, the option of deleting the third row altogether from the factory.

Aside from that, I love my new Denali, although I really haven't had time to really drive very far (the odometer today reads 165 km). Tomorrow she will get her first wash and wax.

Completely agree with you. My pops just bought a '15 Yukon Denali last year and is in the exact same boat. The last two Yukons he had he removed the 3rd row the day he bought it and put it back in the day he sold it... He likes the rest of the '15 so much though, that the higher rear floor doesn't seem to bother him.
