So the Sierra, at least for my use case, simply isn't a viable option because of it's 24 gallon gas tank. I would like to tow my track car longer distances to other tracks like WGI, VIR, LRP, Palmer, NJMP, Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio and the need to find a gas station every 200-250 miles in a GM (gas) 1/2 ton versus every 300-400 miles in a F150 (36 gallon gas tank) matters. If I went the 1/2 ton pickup route, I would be limited to the F150.

And the issue is that once I'm invested in that ecosystem with a F150 purchase, I'm more likely to follow that up with an Expedition Max purchase than I would be for a GM full size SUV purchase later on.
Why not a Ram?

The interior of the Ram is far superior than the Ford. I looked at Ford last week and I was uninspired

I’m contemplating a gas 2500 Ram Rebel myself since GM can’t build me a Yukon XL Denali diesel…but the reason is looking more and more like my dealer being the issue

I have a close up photo of the areas, and you cant even see it there. Like I said, if the salesman hadn't pointed it out, I likely never would have known. It is a slight discoloration just around the areas they replaced the badging. They should be delivering it tomorrow or the day after, so shouldn't be much longer and I'll have this 2 year journey behind us.

Lesson learned...order through a large dealer. Once I moved our order to Laura Buick GMC, it was three months from deposit to delivery. Ask for Danny Griffiths and tell him Derek sent you.

Do they accept supplier discount? Last I checked, several several several several months back, they didn’t…but I guess that’s how my dealer got my money

So the downside of the Ram 1500 is that it has the lowest payload and rear axle weight rating of any of the manufacturers. Also, there is no air suspension delete option in the US for the Limited trim. For the F150, you could theoretically swap in the Heavy Duty Payload Package (HDPP) rear leaf springs to stiffen up the rear of the vehicle for towing applications. It will NOT LEGALLY increase your payload or rear axle weight rating capacities, but it may cause your F150 to feel closer to a 3/4 ton while trailering. Also, the interior of the F150 Platinum is sufficient for my needs - probably even more so if I want for the 2024 refresh.

Much of what I will end up purchasing in Q4 2023 to Q2 2024 depends on GM's inventory. If it looks like I still need to play the allocation game among GMC dealers, I'm just going to Granger Ford and ordering a Ford so I don't have to deal with the hassle of GM's ordering system.

I’m not sure. I’m not a supplier so I didn’t inquire about it.

Still waiting 150+ days plus! Does anyone have a link for current constraints?

Cant find one Z71 with mag ride available across the US. Part of the Z6E Off Road Capability Package.

Picked up my Denali Ultimate yesterday. Ordered in November. Really nice and a big upgrade from my 21 Tahoe Z71. Although I can't seem to the SC to work.

In my experience, towing anything reasonably heavy with good wind resistance (enclosed trailer, camper, etc >5000 lbs) is a poor experience with a 1500-series truck. Even though it's rated for it, it's always been a white-knuckle experience for me.
Open trailer track car might be no problem, as long as the trailer isn't too heavy.

For an occasional duty tow vehicle, check into the Ford/Ram/GM gas 250/2500 machines. I bought a new F250 4x4 Lariat gas for less than the cost of a King Ranch F150.

Other forum members have made comments that supercruise hasn't been working for them, so maybe there's some higher level issues that are impacting the feature?

I agree with all of your statements. If it ends up being a 1/2 ton pick up, it will be an flat bed car trailer and not an enclosed trailer. I would estimate the total weight of the flat bed trailer and track vehicle to not exceed 7,000 lbs.

If I needed more than a 1/2 ton, I would just get a 1 ton HD SRW gas pickup. The advantage of the 1 ton HD SRW gas is that it would be hard to overload it with a flat bed trailer and track vehicle. You could probably get away with not using a WDH if the trailer weight is low enough.
