My '13 Yukon XL Denali doesn't seem to have any real provision for cargo tie down other than a pair of hooks in the floor. I guess I am used to vehicles that have places on the sides to connect a net or something to secure loose cargo.

I'm interested in hearing any ideas or suggestions for securing cargo.

Has anyone added some hooks or anything to secure cargo?

Thanks.

It really bugs me that the floor hooks are all that GM provided, especially since I have a big square cargo mat that covers them...

I have thought about installing some small u-bolts to the side of the cargo area, probably 2 per side. Maybe using some very large washers behind it to displace the force across that flimsy ass plastic paneling would work well?

Post if you pull the trigger on trying something out and i'll do the same

Yeah, I am still pondering.

My folks have an SRX that has some real cool flush aluminum rails. You have to but them but there are some sliding cleats that you can use to secure about any cargo you want.

My current thoughts are to find some sort of rail system to attach. The key is to then attach it in a professional/oem looking way.

An added advantage to a rail is that the load could be spread out quite a bit over whatever you are attaching it to, like the plastic sides, if that is what I end up doing.

My buddy bought a 2013 Tacoma that has bedrails and quick release cleats like you're describing, I was quite jealous of them. I agree that hooks or u-bolts wouldn't be aesthetically pleasing or OEM looking at all.

Definitely would want to be able to properly fit the 3rd row back in without being impacted by the rails tho.

Looks like a good product, I'm thinking the rails would rub the outside of the 3rd row seats and cause a lot of wear n tear folding up and down

hardly any room between there
