Glad to hear that you're in remission! That's awesome! My Godfather is fighting that BS right now. It really sucks.
As far as the 90 Suburban hood . . . No. It will not work on your 98 Tahoe. The 90 was still a square body Suburban. 92 was the first year of the OBS. I knew this, because I want to build a square body GM truck with the 90 Burb front clip. That front clip was never used on the pickups. 88 was the first year of the OBS. In 89, they updated the grill and lights on the Burb to match the face of the OBS.
