Thoughts on new lift installed yesterday

I've read both on this forum and a few others that the Rancho shocks are quite harsh, gives a real rough ride. Not to mention, they supposedly don't last nearly as long as other makes.

FWIW, I've got KYB Monomax shocks (stock with 2" extenders rear, 2-5" lifted front) and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. IIRC, @ScottyBoy has them too.

Yes, I have the KYB Monomax on all four corners. I've had them for over 5 years now and they have served me well. Now they aren't Bilstein's, but they cost less than half as much too. I installed them in 2011 and put about 40k-50k miles on them. I recently replaced the rears this past May because I had a bad blowout on the highway that busted a shock. I plan on replacing the front's in the spring. I noticed a difference when I put the new rears on, so I'm guessing they have almost reached their lifespan. And I should also add that I'm at stock height, not lifted it lowered so I don't know if that makes a difference on the shocks or not.

So as I posted before i lifted my hoe yesterday. Z71 springs and 2" spacers and amazon keys. Now the front I'm good I think. A little harsher ride, but that's expected. The rear though I'm getting a banging when I go over bumps when going 5-20mph. My guess is I need longer shocks. What do you all think? The spacers haven't moved and everything is put back the way it should be it's like it's over extending and then slamming down.

lol I have the same problem, is because the stock shock is stretched out too far, it scared the shit out of me the first time I heard it thought the truck was falling apart. Just get new shocks like bilstein 5100s

I was also getting a loud CLUNK when I went over any sort of bump, but I knew my shocks weren't being overextended. I swapped the KYB Monomax shocks I had put on my Suburban months before it was wrecked onto my new(er) Yukon XL, they were the correct length for my application, and I added 2" shock extenders to compensate for the 2" coil spring extensions I added.

Come to find out, the nut and bolt holding the extension for the shock kept coming loose. Not enough to allow the nut to come off, but enough for it to move. Put some Loctite on it before snugging it down, it seems to be good.... and hope it stays that way.

I put longer sway links in the rear with my level kit.The hole in my sway bar where my link bolted on was wollowed out and caused a noise similar to what your explaining.I cut a piece of steel sleeve from hardware store,drilled out new rubber bushing w half in spade bit,new bolt to match sleeve and done,no more noise

What size tires are you running and what is your wheel offset?

I had an annoying clunk in my rear suspension when going over bumps at low speeds as well. I've had it for a little over a year and I never could figure it out. I replaced my rear shocks due to age, and the fact that I broke the passenger side rear shock when my wheel came off, and the clunks were GONE after installing the new shocks.
