so for a while my truck has been running like shit with an iac code. changed that, no luck . the other day while cleaning the motor i sprayed gum cuttter on the intake to clean it, when i did this the rpms jumped, so i did it again until the point which it stalled out. turns out i had a vacuum leak ,the throttle body gasket took a crap which gave me rough/high idle (1100 rpm) in gear and a very rich idle. did the gasket last night and it runs great, no light idles at 600 in gear and does not run rich my frutration is over now to the egr problem

I think that is about the most common problem causing a high idle.

What is wrong with your EGR? Have you checked it out?

Was it very hard to change out the gasket? I believe I am having the same issue.

Cool that you got it fixed, high idle/rough at a light sucks!

I have a slight stumble when stopped at a light, just wandering if its a characteristic of the TBI.

if it is idling low than most likely not, miine idles low but has a little occasional stumble idling at lights that is the next project
