so I replaced the right and left motor mounts and the trans mount and that fixed most of my issues but I still have a weird almost thud like noise when coming to a stop and the trans downshifts into first it feels like someone kicked the floorboard im leaning towards it being another mount of some sort maybe differential mounts or something if anybody has any ideas or input would greatly appreciate it.

How does the transmission fluid look? Anything in the bottom of the pan?

Front differential mounts at three points. The rear mount is near your oil filter, big rubber bushing in it. That's the one I would check.

Which model? If it’s a AWD Denali then I suspect front diff mounts. Common issue. Can be replaced with the diff still in the truck with some finagling.

I had the same clunk, and first I replaced the slip yoke with a nickel plated one, but the clunk was still there. Then, I replaced the front differential mounts, and bushings, and the clunk went away.

Yeah it’s awd that’s what I’m thinking as well without a lift and a muddy driveway/yard it’s hard to see what’s going on I need to jack it up on some concrete and visually inspect everything and if it’s the front diff mounts like you said than go ahead and get that done I appreciate the advice brother!

I’m glad I asked because the slip yoke was the next thing on the list when I was part swapping trying to fix the issue lol so I’m going to go with the diff mounts and bushings first thanks for the advice you just saved me another headache and some money!
