Right now my Tahoe has 245/75/16s on it. I want to go to a bigger tire. I'm thinking like a 285/75 or something around 32". I know I could turn the torsion bars and trim a little bit but I want something that will ride as close to stock as possible. Would keys and a small block be enough? Also once lifted to clear what shocks are y'all running? I've used Pro Comp in the past but I am willing to try whatever works the best.

A crank on the stock keys should be plenty. no need for a block unless you want the rear taller. I ran the same size with no crank or trimming on stock wheels.

i have the procomps that came with my 6" lift and they are still doing their job. indiana winters have been hell on them (and the truck...) so they will probably be rusty trash in the next couple years.

trucks been lifted atleast a few years now.

What shock work best once I turn the torsion bars? The reason I'd do the back is because the rear sits lower in the back. Also what should the fender height be once I turn bars. Getting the truck used I'm not sure what the PO did to the suspension

By the way thanks for the help guys.

Not sure what the height should be. When i fitted mine I added a 2" block in the rear first since I was sagging so the lift ended up being like a 1". It raised the rear only about a 1/2" higher than the front. I added my 285's with a 16x8 zero offset rim only to rub at full lock and on bumps. I raised the torsion bars another 1/2" higher to even out the height and I have no rubbing if I drive normal. When I drive like I stole my truck it rubs here and there on compression of the suspension. For shocks I did KYB monotubes since i wanted a slightly stiffer ride so i can feel more in control on turns and road imperfections.
I have to say everything worked out well and I am pretty happy with my setup.

I have 285/75/16s and they do not rub ...no lift needed(no blocks in rear and not sure if the previous owner cranked the keys)
not sure about offset as the hoe came with the tires and rims already installed.

Will this kit ride good http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/view...cription&index=4&nav=SEARCH&nid=80186961714?? I need to replace some of the wear and tear items including ball joints and shocks. If these shocks ride goodi will order it. I should have plenty of clearance for 285s. I think the wheels I am going to do are the Teflon coated Mojave wheels in a 17. As long as my wife approves those wheels that's the plan.

How does your truck behave with those 285s and 3.73s? How do these truck brake with the 285s? I am looking now for a 14 bolt semi floater in a 6 lug with 4.11s. How much do the 3/4 ton brakes help? Or does swapping to a Hydroboost give better results? Until we get an 07+ Escalade ESV this will be our tow;vacation vehicle my drive drives every day. So a good ride, good brakes, and suspension able to tow a trailer with a car or boat.

I just got off the phone with 4 Wheel Parts and Off-road and they suggested keys with Pro Comp 5000 shocks, steering stabilizer, Pro Comp 8069 (since the Mojave has been discontinued) and 285/70/17 Pro Comp AT for 1800 shipped. How are those shocks, tires, is a steering stabilizer needed, and should I run a block, add a leaf, or nothing in the back?

try cranking your stock keys before you buy aftermarkets. Our stock keys are typically enough to hit the droop stops. Keys are more for the NBS trucks. I would also stay away from procomp shocks.
