Guys.....Im gonna replace my timing chain tomorrow along with a new oil pump. Is it better to get a good timing chain or even a double roller or should I get a quiet Timing Gear Set and be done with it? All input is welcomed

:boobs: Guys!!!!!! come to find out the only timing gear that will fit the Beast is dam near $400. Reason being is because of the fact our crankshaft position sensor plugs in there. Shit:shooter: So I guess Im gonna go with a single roller...Most likely Edlebrock or Cloyes. Well hope that helps someone down the road. Thanks for all the input fellas :boti:

looks like a single roller is our only option because of the stupid plastic timing cover. Unreal. Well single it is. Im gonna tackle that along with the new oil pump and fuel filter today. wish me luck

Replacement went great. You can only do a single on this year with the stupid plastic box there. but I had to do a ton of more shit. Upper and Lower intake gaskets, Thermostat, Crankshaft sensor, some stupid egr valve hose, mass air flow sensor and to top it off a new distributor. wow. should have the truck this evening. wish me luck

Don't know if there is a replacement interval recommendation at all. Unlike many imports which use timing belts, the timing gear/chain are metal and don't stretch as easily as belts do... I've got ~250k on my factory original.
