Tint suggestion/opinions

Same here in Florida, Sheriff checked my VIN and didn't care about the tint.

I wish it were that easy here in NC.

I hated the 5% at night, couldn't see anything around you that wasn't lit up.

It also wouldn't allow the mirrors to auto darken, which wasn't too bad if you have 5% on the fronts, but with 20% on the fronts those bright headlights behind you reflecting into your face from the un-dimmed side mirror gets annoying.... lol

Spot on! Your fronts will definitely ‘appear’ darker with darker tint on the rear.......BUT...what I did was 5% limo over all the rear windows (over factory tint).....had the driver/passenger windows done in 35%....but also, and what I consider the most affective in terms of function AND contributing to the overall look of the vehicle, was having 20% put on the windshield! From inside the vehicle looking out you can not tell the windshield is tinted...even at night it does not hinder visibility out the windshield! But during sunny days having the windshield tinted REALLY cuts down on heat in the vehicle and road glare etc etc....not to mention will protect your dash and other interior over the long run! And to your point having the windshield tinted makes the rear of the windows appear darker tint when they are not! Annnnnd....good luck with a shop/officer having a meter to ‘test’ the windshield tint level......or even be able to tell it’s tinted if it’s done well with no identifying wrinkles etc. Every person that has sat in my Denali or rode with me says they can’t even tell the windshield is tinted looking from the inside out......some have a hard time believing it’s tinted and think I’m messing with them....

Ever since having my first windshield tinted like this two vehicles ago I will ALWAYS immediately have my future vehicle windshields tinted in the same way.! Greatly helps with eye strain on sunny days as well (I’m a traveling accounts manager and put in a lot of windshield time).

I am in Missouri...but I have a local shop I’ve dealt with for years that does excellent work at a very reasonable price...and as long as it’s a ‘cash deal’ they will tint per my request..

I take my cars for inspection when it's nice out and put the side windows down, wait for my cars, and they have never said anything to me about my illegal tint, been doing this since the 80's, yea I'm old

I like the tint on all my vehicles.

On my '15 Tahoe I have 5% on the back glass, 15% on all side glass and 30% on the windshield. I'm getting used to the 30% but don't think i'll go that dark in the future. At night it's a bit dark.

Well luckily here in MO we don’t need an inspection done for the first 5 years of new ownership. I haven’t reached that point yet and since the first application of inspection sticker should be for a 2 year renewal I theoretically wouldn’t need to worry about it for the first 7 years (new sticker would just get applied - no scraping off the old). If I get to that point I’ll ask if I can apply the sticker myself.

20% on the windshield? Wow thats pretty dark. I was considering like 70% or so, which even that little amount it technically illegal here.
