I will never understand painting your tail lights black...
tinting, not painting. Tinting allows the light to shine through if done correctly
In Florida you have to be able to see the brake lights from 1000 feet away. I don't know what the law in Connecticut is but it has to be more than 100 feet.
It doesn't help that 88-98 tail lights are junk in the day time without tint.
There are good replacements out there.
