went to firestone to look at some new tires. my size is 235/75/R15. He showed me some sets with basic thread, I wasn't interested. Then he brought out the big guns and showed me a 235/75/R15 mud terrain tire. I was all ears until he showed me the price. 789.00, labor and parts included, tax excluded. I walked right out of the store.

Maybe it's because I'm in Canada where we are used to paying higher prices, but that seems about right to me.
I'd be happy if I can get four MT tires mounted, balanced and installed for under $800+tax.
Figure about $20 per tire for balance, install and road hazard = $80.
That's only $175 per tire. And MT's cost more than AT's. Yup, seems right to me.

But then again you guys only pay $220 for a MPFI spider upgrade and free shipping, where I have to pay over $300+shipping+currency conversion+customs import charge. Oh wait, our dollar is worth more than yours now...I should be getting money back on the currency conversion at least.

I would agree that is kind of high. But not by much for a mud terrain from a known and reputable manufactuer. Go to Sam's Club, they usually have good prices and the mounting and balancing is a hell of a lot cheaper than other places.

By the way, its "tread" not "thread".

whoops. well tomorrow im going to start working on this. I'm putting on my old rims that came with the hoe, so I can power wash and paint these stockers. After that I have to decide what tires to buy without sacrificing a leg.

unknown at this time.
Find your tire manufacturer, type and size, uses its code(sometimes called an article number) and shop around with that. Choose what does the job and work to meet the cost of it.

$800 for all 4 mud terrain in 235/75?? That does sound about right ... I dropped a lil under that for 4 31x10.5 BFGs mounted and all that ... my ex works at a truck repair shop so there was a discount.

If you want to play with the big boys it's gonna cost you. :D
