Tire size choice for 07 Yukon (275/65 or 305/55)

I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. I've only found one Tahoe/Yukon out there running 275/65/20 (cshayes2). Looks like he did a good bit of cutting but on a CCM kit and with a brush guard.

I'm between 305/55 and 275/60 right now. Going to price shop locally before pulling the trigger, plus my stocks still have some life in them. I'm down to...

305/55
1) Mastercraft MXT
2) Toyo AT2
3) Cooper S/T Maxx
4) Nitto G2

275/60
1) Duratrac
2) BFG KO2

275/65
1) BFG KO2

295/55
1) Cooper STT Pro

Haven't narrowed much down, really. It'll come down to price, look, weight in the end (in that order).

Don't know how many times to say it but 305 on stock rims will rub the sway bar and not a damn thing you can do but remove the bar or get new wheels or wheel spacers. Here is options to consider when going plus sizes. Do you need the bigger heavier tire on a 1/2 ton frame? Considering normal P rated tires weight abou 45 pounds to the E tires around 65 pounds. Is it worth the weight and loss in gas mileage for width? Do you want to spend $500 more for a class E tire for the looks and other downsides?

Here's my input run good to expensive tires (never buy shit tires!) cause they wear and ride better. Even the Toyo at2 ride better than bfg ko2 according to @louisianadenali. So either run class P 275/60r20 (33x11R20) or class E 295/55R20 (33x12R20).

The 285/55/r20 toyo's I got are a 10 ply tire. They seriously ride noticeably better than the 275/55/20 ko2. I can tell a little loss in power but not too bad. As far as gas mileage... Getting about 9.5 in town so far, but I tend to be pretty throttle happy (the 6.2 is too much fun to not lay in it constantly though). I kinda wish I would've gone the 295 route looks wise but it was $1800 compared to $1579 for the 285's ($1350 I think for the 275/60).

I had to trim in the rear due to rubbing with 7 passengers in the car.
I'm not lifted in the rear so 285's look great, but if I was lifted in the rear, I would want 295s

I'm gonna cram 305's on mine for the next set haha my old truck rubbed on the sway bars, but only at full lock so i was careful. didn't really hurt anything

Complete respect the input and can't disagree on any points. The stiffer ride doesn't scare me to be honest. I'm used to driving a truck and the Goodyear LS2 on the Yukon just seem soft for me, I would actually like a stiffer ride. If I rub the sway bar at full at full lock I'm not too worried about it, there's not a ton of time I spend at full lock anyway.

I'm the same way. I've seen enough NNBS trucks and SUVs with 305s that I'll be kicking myself if I go smaller and clear by a mile. Then I have to live with the disappointment for a couple years. I'd rather go bigger and have to do some work for clearance that stare at my mistake for that long.

What 2.5 kit do you have?

Just an eBay kit. A spacer is a spacer. It's 2.5" front and 1.5" rear. But it has a very small amount of lean that bothers me so I'm getting a 2" rear spacer.

Once I go 305 or 33x1250 I'll just get the smallest front spacer I can to eliminate rubbing

10-4. I've noticed that CCM 2.5s appear shorter than my TGC or Total Performance. Just wondering.

I have some lean so I may go with a 1" spacer (max) but I think the lean looks better than rake. I'm going to put tires on before any rear spacer to see what my clearance requirements are.
