Tire size recommendation.

I purchased a 2015 Tahoe Z71 about a year ago. It has a 2” leveling kit on the front.

The Tahoe came with 33x12.5xr18LT Terra Hunter X/T tires.

These tires rub very badly and are more aggressive that what I care for.

Any recommendations on tires (size) that won’t rub as bad, are less aggressive but still look good. And aren’t quite as loud.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well KO2s are hard to beat for looks. 12.5s are too wide with even a 4 or 6 inch lift. You can run a 275-70-18 and maybe get away with a 285-70-18. There are guys with your generation that run 34s, 275-65-20s with a level without rubbing. So the first option should be easy peasy.

If you are looking for a quieter tire, you'll have to look for a less aggressive tread design. If most of your driving is on pave surfaces, you may want to consider a Michelin Defender tire. They are quiet, got performers in dry, wet, and snow, and they last for around 70,000 miles.

Yeah wow, those are really too wide. I am considering 275/70/18 next. I have Conti terrain contact HT in 265/70/18 and they are excellent road tires in every way, just boring looking like the defenders or alenzas. The terrain contact AT version is more aggressive, but still mostly a road tire. I will probably end up with those or one of the new grapplers (recon/exo). It will be a while as these are wearing very slowly, but I may find an excuse the ole lady will buy...

How about running a 17" rim on the Tahoe? Can that be done?

If memory serves, the smallest wheel you can run are 18s.

What’s up dude, here’s a sample tire size on my 3” lift it’s a 275-70/R18 Goodyear wrangler Territory MT on a 0 offset rim. The tires are the OEM Silverado ZR2 tire size and fit perfect. Quiet, smooth and work really good off-road. Aggressive but don’t over do it. I get a little rub at full steering lock going into a steep driveways on the bottom part of wheel well and stuff but that’s it. Rear is 0 rubbing.

That's the perfect stance and tire setup in my opinion. I need to upgrade from the bilstein 5100's to your 3" fox setup..

Definitely worth it, it is a Dirt King mid travel setup, I also have the 2.5 piggyback resi’s in the rear. Rides way better than stock did.
