Whats the biggest tire/rim size for a 2000 Yukon with no lift. Completely stock.

Would a lift be recommended if putting rims on my truck?

Run a 16x8 Rim (Unless you have 17's from the factory) and then run up to a 32-33" Tire. 33" Might rub a little but an alignment shop can turn the torsion keys up a little to solve that problem.

I've been told that 285/75-16's will fit (tire shop guy)
may have to trim the plastic from the bottom of the bumper corners
may get a little rubbing at full lock when backing up.

the more I drive my Tahoe,
the less I wanna go with a taller tire (because of the gearing)
I just want Wider, but choices in 16" are limmited

Thats correct, 285's WILL fit but with trimming. I would reccomend instead of letting them chop the plastic up, simply go to EBAY and get some 2" Leveling keys. This saves the hassle of cutting anything and you know that it will be done correctly.

I'm running 26x10s with 305/30/26 and no lift I had to trim the plastic on the rear inner fender a bit though.

the guy at the tire shop (said he used to work at an allignment shop) said he didn't like using the keys to raise the front,
said it messes up the front end geometry ???

I have been looking at 275/70-16 tires which would be a little taller and a little wider. Have asked if anyone is running that tire but have gotten no replies. Found they are hard to come by but found a great deal on Federal Couragia for just over 500 out the door.

2000 GMC Yukon w/ 285/75 R16 Procomp All terrains. Slightly cranked front T-bars

Edit: No trimming, rubs inner fender ever so lightly at full steering lock. Doesn't rub the body, even with the new Sierra bumper.
