Tires for 20in rims on 2004 tahoe.

So I`m going to be replacing tires on my tahoe. It has 275/65 r20 on it now. This is my first vehicle without factory wheels, i really have no clue what look for in tires. What is a good tire for mostly highway driving?

I'm assuming you mean that you have 275/55/20's on it now as a 275/65/20 is a 34" tall tire and your avatar looks like your at factory height. A good tire for highway driving would be something similar to the Goodyears that come factory on the newer GM products with OEM 20's. Usually you can find a good set of take offs cheap on CL as people usually want a more aggressive tire. Your best bet would be to get on a tire shops website and type in the tire size you want and read the reviews on the different tires. Then pick what you like, or watch for a cheap used set on CL.

Your right it was 275/55 r20. What would be the biggest i could go on stock suspension? I`ve had cooper discoverers on my truck before butbthat had a 16inch rim. How much different in ride does the bigger rim have?

I agree. Although my Nitto NT421Q's are a really nice tire for all season.

A 275/60/20 is .5" taller and yea fit I had a set on my 2002 Tahoe... I plan on running 275/65/20 this winter... They are the same height as my 305/30/26 when side by side

Would the taller tire make a difference is ride quality?

Alittle more sidewall but I didn't notice a difference.

gotcha, I'm leaning toward the goodyear eagle ls-2 or the cooper discoverer h/t
