Tires rubbing after lift and spacer install

Upgraded from a 2” front block to a 3.5” RC lift with 2” spacers and new rear shocks. Rides like a dream and looks less like a mom car which I love. But the front is rubbing pretty bad on the inside at a turn. It rubbed before at a full turn with my 33s but this is a lot worse. Looks like an easy fix but just want a little guidance on what others have done.

I cannot personally help you with your question; however, other members on this Forum that are much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.

I would say, however, that it looks like there is some cutting/trimming work in your future.

Might sound bad but you have to hack out a triangle shape out your inner fender/cab corner
They call this a NorCal mod
It’s brutal cutting away and beating your ride in with a hammer but it’s not where it’ll ever be seen
I’ve had to do this to every vehicle I have because I run the 14 wide wheels

You may have to trim your steps some also by the looks of it or remove them completely if that’s a option you might consider.

I cannot find a good picture up close of how I did mine this is a old pic from before I did the lift kit but you can zoom in and somewhat see where I cut the fender liner and cab corner I also removed my steps.

A small 3” air grinder and cut off wheel works good and a saw saw with a short metal cutting blade also
Break out the hammer as well lol

Yea my wife complained about no steps after I lifted it I thought to get some n fab hoop steps at some point but I don’t need them personally and my daughter is old enough she can climb in and out now so it’s ok the wife never drives it anymore anyways since we got her car.
If the end caps on your steps are removable just take them off if not maybe a inch or so off the end should do the trick

thank you! I actually watched this yesterday. Was hoping for a more minor modification, but I might just wind up taking it to a local mod guy and have him do it if all else fails.

Chevys square fender wells is what makes it so hard to clear anything bigger than stock.
Notice you see stock fords and dodges with 37s and no lift at all but we rub like crazy when we simply step up to 33s
So therefore the only real option if your looking to run bigger wheels is to trim the bumper and the cab corner/fender
I had to do this to my 93 my 97 and both my 07s along with about a dozen of my friends Tahoes and Silverados that I’ve helped mod over the years.
I even just trimmed my buddy’s 2020 tacoma where he decided to run 33/12.50s with wheel spacers on a 10 wide wheel
We had to hack a lot out of his cab corner but luckily everything was out of sight where it wouldn’t be seen unless you get up under the truck

Did some damage to the well liner today in the chick fil a drive thru so I definitely need to fix it hubby wanted to wring my neck taking such a tight turn but it made him realize how bad it was.
