Tires - what width 33's?

I've been running 285/75/16's for the last 5 years, want to change things up a bit. Would love to run 315/75's, but my wallet would only hate me every time I got gas.

So... I'm debating on another set of 285's, or going narrower with some Cooper Discoverer S/T's in a 255/85/16, or maybe going wider with some 305/75/16's...

Pros and cons?

I'm 99% on road, I want something that will last a good long while. My current Kumho's will be lucky to see 35K on them.

Love the 295/75/16 personally. Wider than a 285/75/16 and taller too.
