I'm in the process of buy a set of 22 for my denali and I would like to know is it necessary to change back to you factory rims in the winter time??? I live in MD How many ppl do it and why???
I wouldn't think it is necessary, but there are 2 good reasons I can think of. 1st would be if the tread on the tires is not very good for driving in winter conditions. 2nd would be that the salt used on the roads could cause the chrome to corrode or pit prematurely. If you keep them at least rinsed off that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
If you live in MD and you plan on buying rims with chrome then YES, switch them back to factory rims before snow falls because the salt will ruin your rims. I used to live in Baltimore and I know how bad winters can get there and I don't suggest riding around on 22's.
I remove mine for the same reasons. The rubber on mine are summer tires. Even if they were all seasonal I would still change them because of the salt and crap. Becides I dont think I could let them keep dirty that long. The rubber will also last longer.
Thanks all well I guess I have to make sure they stay clean which won't be that big of a deal @Brandon I understand were u coming from eventhough the pot holes In My area are not that bad I guess imma go bak to my original plan stock gmc 20's
I had my Denali a month now an I drove it 4 times so far about 1hr each time just tryna get a feel of the truck an as I stated in past topics this is my first gmc is it me or does anyone else with a Denali feel the road it's like I feel every single bump crack etc and I have 17 stock could it be my tires or is it just how denali's ride???? My air shocks works fine I do feel the luxury floating feeling from the air suspension but besides that every body in the truck is rocking left an right
