This is my problem. I have the trucks in my signature, 99 hoe stock completely with 150k and 07 burb with 251k. The burb is the daily driver and the hoe is our 3rd car. I am seriously considering selling both or at least the burb. I am thinking about a 3/4 burb or (sorry guys) a diesel excursion 7.3L if I go this route.

The burb is to a point where I either need to put some money back into her and keep her or let her go now. I need to do the following shorty-

New tires - $1000
Rebuild trans - $1400 - The trans is still original @ 251k mi so I'm on borrowed time and she's whining haha
Fix the rear lift gate latch - $??
Replace both sensors on the engine - the one that is easy to get to and the one behind the water pump that half the motor has to come off to get to. $$$$$$$ - Sensors are $150 each but the labor is stupid
Front hubs prob need to be redone.

If I do all of this, then I'm stuck with her for another couple of years or at least till she says 300k on the dial. If I cut her loose now, She'll bring me around $8-9k. If I fix her, she's still only worth $8-9k. For the money that I would spend on her, I could pay her off, sell her and start driving the hoe.

The ole hoe has a coolant leak currently so I don't know if it is a seal or hose but the leak appears to be coming from the water pump. I have though about turning this into my daily driver. But to do so, I would need to add a trans cooler and change the rear diff gears from 3:42 to 3:73s because I tow between 4-6k lbs regularly. The hoe is worth between $3-4k.

What do you guys think?

It all depends on you if you like the car you will fix it but if you are bored and looking for something different i would sell without even bothering.

What I would prefer is a 3/4 diesel burb but that is a pipe dream... I've thought about a 3/4 ton burb or just another 1/2 ton but the next truck I get I plan on keeping for a long time as it will probably turn into strictly a tow/hunt/fish.

LOL... Portsmouth Island, SOBX NC. One of my favorite places and pictures I've taken of the old gal.

Or you could sell them both and buy a newer burb!

I've thought about this but I can't justify to myself spending $40k on a burb with 80-100k mi on her when I bought my 07 in 10 with 66k for $29k... That's tough to swallow for a 1/2 ton. Granted gas was $3 when I bought my burb so I know that played into the price.

I bought my 2011 Yukon in 2012 with 30,000 miles for $35,000. Still had some factory warranty left and looked like new. There are some deals out there.

That's a great deal. If I duplicated my burb new it would be over $70k!?!?! Right now I am looking really hard a 3/4 ton. One just popped up near me so I am going to look at it this week.
