I use a filter band style wrench to tighten mine. I put it on by hand at tight as I can and then I tighten it with the wrench .25 to .5 turn and have no problems.

One like this

That band style wrench might work well :waytogo: I'll have to try that next time and see what my luck is like :)

:lol: @ sumo....one thing I'm very confident of is that's it's operator error(ME) :D

....but there is not enough room for them to fit on the filter on the nnbs rigs. The filter is too close to the pan....

I think I might feel dumb when hearing the answer.....

....... but, what is NNBS? :idiot:

To add to what jd said...

Nnbs = new new body style = 07+ = GMT900

these designations of nnbs, nbs, obs,.... Started long ago in forum world but are quickly becoming obsolete:)

Yeah let's just start calling it what it is GMT900

I will never use NNBS, just seems out of touch to me. All my other car forums use factory chassis codes...not some made up thing.

so next body is wha? NNNBS? lol

:lol: That's why it's quickly becoming obsolete cuz that's just silly! :) I'd say just by year range and skip the letter abbreviations :)

Every truck forum I'm on uses the oobs/obs/nbs/nnbs designation. Not sure what it started, though, but I have a feeling that it is either with FSC or GMFS :shrug: But like I said, I'm sure it's nearing the end of it's run and we'll just start using year ranges instead.
