Usually the ABS will do that when one wheel speed sensor is reading different from the others. It thinks one wheel is slipping or skidding so it applies the abs. Your Tech2 will show you speed sensor data and you’ll be able to see which one is off. Usually it’s a front on the hub bearings. What happens is rust builds up under the tab that holds the sensor in place and it lifts the sensor opening the gap causing a erratic reading. Most times can remove the sensor, clean the mounting surface and reinstall and your good to go.I'm finally done---They didn't give me a print out of the redone alignment, which makes me think they're hiding something. They said the alignment was as best they can get it, he said there's play in my steering box--but it drives and tracks much better. They also removed all that weight from the front tire.View attachment 265056
The brake pedal is 100% better, but the abs pump still kicks in when you're almost fully stopped. I'm not getting any abs codes either. Truck has set for at least a year, and I know the nbs have issues with them--so I'm not totally sure if anyone messed it up, could just be it was time for the pump...? Maybe.....Idk. I'm just glad I'm outta there--4 hrs later.
Edit: other times it can be gunk build up on magnetic tip of sensor. Either way, pull sensor, clean tip and mounting surface, reinstall. Make sure to put something in sensor hole when cleaning mounting surface. I had to say it just in case.
