SOB, looks like there are lines painted on underneath the pin-striping sticker.....one gold and one silver one, can't tell if its on top of, or beneath the clearcoat. Any way of getting these off without repainting the whole SOB? I'm guessing not.....

Really? That gives me hope. So its on top of the clearcoat then?
not always. I had a vehicle that was above the paint and clear coat except for 1 panel (that must have been repainted) and that was under the clear. So I just put new pin stripping back on.
if you rub your fingernail down it does your nail get caught on the line or is it completely smooth?
Gets caught. I'm gonna clean up the 3M wheel residue tomorrow with goo-gone, and then I'll be able to tell for sure. If I end up using fingernail polish remover, how does that work? Do I just rub it on, and then rub it off? Or what?
Man, old credit card and paint thinner didn't do much. I got about 2 inches off after 30 minutes of work 
Any easier way? Tried 91% rubbing alcohol and didn't make too much of a difference.
Edit: Do you guys let the remover sit in there for an hour or so, before starting to scrape? Seems like it dissolves/dries up pretty quick, so I'm not sure how else to let it soak other than to continually rub some more on there with a cotton ball?

Found the secret juice, Mr. Muscle! Spray some in a plastic bowl, dip a q-tip in it, run it along the paint stripes, let it soak on there for 45-60 seconds. Then get a dry q-tip and start rubbing it off. Paint comes off like it's water When done rinse off with the hose as you don't want that Mr. Muscle sitting on your clearcoat all night. Got the tailgate done tonight, will do both sides this weekend and post some pics.
