Hey guys I haven't been around in a while (been a busy summer/fall) but I finally got the '03 Denali to the track.
I only got to make one pass but it was wicked fun. Raced up against a '03 Silverado SS. I had one of the techies match us up because it was either that or I race the Chrysler Crossfire that was next to me:
My 2003 GMC Denali (stock)
R/T.....0.722
60'......2.484
330'....6.723
1/8mi..10.281 > 69.56mph
1000'..13.312
1/4mi..15.916 > 86.02mph
2003 Chevrolet Silverado SS (stock?)
R/T.....0.819
60'......2.274
330'....6.385
1/8mi..9.821 > 71.39mph
1000'..12.859
1/4mi..15.474 > 86.05mph
R/T factored in, the SS only beat me by 0.3452 seconds. It was a really close race and the Denali got IN THE FIFTEENS! That is all I was really hoping for, so I'm planning on a CIA and dual exhaust with a computer chip tune in the spring, hopefully bring it down to 15 flat? It was an interesting race because the power curve of the SS's 6.0 engine is a little different than the Denali's 6.0. I mean, I'm sure the only real difference is the computer's tuning, aside from that it is probably the exact same drive train to the T. But looking at the numbers you can see he had a decent gain on me in the beginning but then I caught up to him towards the end. We both had automatics.
Also, I was talking to the guy right after we raced, he had 200,000 miles on that truck. 200k on a 6 year old truck? Holy shit! I figure though, with my truck rated at 325HP/360ft.lbs. and the Silverado SS rated at 345hp/380ft.lbs., and with like 300 lbs. less curb weight that was a damn good race. My front bumper was at his rear bumper as we passed the finish line and I was gaining. I wonder if it had been a 1/2 mile track what the outcome would have been?
