Pillar covers have to come off to remove the dash trim and air bags are inside behind the pillar covers and all along the roof from front to rear doorsAnd a followup, the bases of the pillar covers appear to be free of the ends of the frontmost narrower dash cover panel so can I expect to be able to remove the dash cover panel without messing with the pillar covers?

no not unless you are trying to remove a airbag, you can work around themSo does the electrical system need to be drained down because of the proximity of the air bags?
