Our 2007 Police tahoe (4wd) governs below 100mph.....

I think my escalade goes up to 110.... Not 100% though, But I think I Remember going over 100 once before.

Stock, the shutoff varies between 95-99 mph. A "delimited" 5.3 will easily do 120+. My 6.2 blows through the 120 speedo and I figure would probably do 140+ mph. The question is, where do you need to go that fast??? In Ca. there is a specific vehicle code violation for "exceeding 100 mph" that is not the same thing as "reckless driving" or speeding, but will remove your license for at least 30 days and lighten your wallet as sure as death and taxes. Ask me how I know.

After almost killing myself going over 140mph on a charger i owned, the max i go on my kon is 65 mph :lol2:

This is a Police SSV. Thats why I need the top speed from time to time.

If its a police ssv, wouldnt the dept mechanic typically do that work?

Yes he is going to now that I have found out the speed limiter needs adjusted. Prob wont be able to till I need the tires replaced though. Im not gonna attempt this until I have a higher speed rated tire. Our PPV model has a top speed of 139 and I was amazed that mine shut off at 100.
