Torsion Bar Keys help.

I am getting ready to lower my truck, but Im going back and forth trying to figure out whats better to crank my stock keys or to install the lowering keys. Can someone tell me whats the max my truck would drop if i just crank my stock keys? I am going to install a belltech 5305 which drops about 5" in the rear.

cranking your stock keys wont get you very much drop...
and it sure wont match 5in in the back
Maybe 2in or so

If you de crank the stock keys I believe you can get a 2" drop out of it but lose ride quality and could have issues getting it aligned correctly. Definitely throw the drop keys in and you will have no problems with alignment(at least I didn't) here's a pic of mine with 3/4 ton keys (purple) and the 5305 coils 285/45/22

The key itself won't be a variable in whether or not the truck will align. The stock key is good for a 2" drop. A drop key will reindex the bars & allow you to go lower.

If you mean the spacer in the coil, no I am not running it. I do still have the coils spring isolators in and running belltech shock extenders. I also have factory air ride shocks. I was told if I got a drop shock I would sit a little lower in the rear tho

Good stuff man... I think I'll be installing the drop keys i already got them just wanted to save some time!!!!

I've never installed keys myself, but I tackled it in about 45 min. I used a 2 jaw 7 ton gear puller. Piece of cake rented the tool from local auto parts store. Had to leave a deposit but it was fully refundable.

I've seen those but I dont know how it actually. I guess it pushes the torsion bar to free up the key?

Nevermind I just saw a how-to video on how to replace the keys, I know how that thing works now lol....
